Blue & Green Sieve Stitch Pouch

A textured crochet pouch created to experiment with an unexpected blue and green colour combination.

Blue & Green Sieve Stitch Pouch

One of the things I enjoy most about crochet is experimenting—not just with stitches, but with colours too.

For this pouch, I wanted to see how blue and green would work together. It’s not a colour combination I naturally reach for, but that’s exactly why I wanted to give it a try. As the rows grew, I was pleasantly surprised by how fresh and calming the two colours looked side by side.

I also took the opportunity to try the Sieve Stitch. Its textured vertical pattern pairs nicely with stripes and gives the fabric a little extra depth without being too busy.

While I originally made it as a pouch, it could also become a unique book cover for a favourite notebook or journal. Add a zipper to turn it into a pouch, or simply slip a book inside and enjoy the textured fabric every time you pick it up.

This is one of my stitch experiments that deserves a new home. Rather than letting it sit in a drawer, I’d love for someone else to finish it in whatever way suits them best.

As with everything in this section, I’ll list it on Vinted for roughly the cost of the yarn (usually around €2–3). The idea isn’t to make a profit, just to let the materials continue their journey with another crocheter.
