I came across a beautiful bobble bag pattern by Viv Crochets, and it immediately made me want to try making one of my own.
The original pattern uses a solid bobble stitch, but I wondered what it would look like if the fabric was a little lighter and airier. So instead of following it exactly, I improvised and experimented with a lacy bobble stitch. The result is a crochet tote bag that keeps all the lovely texture of bobbles while feeling much more open and perfect for warmer days.
I really enjoy projects like this, where I can start with an idea and see where it takes me. Sometimes a small change in stitch completely changes the personality of a bag.
Made with 100% cotton yarn, this tote feels soft yet sturdy, and the open texture gives it a relaxed summer look. I can already imagine taking it to a weekend market, the beach, or simply carrying it around on a sunny afternoon.
