I work as a research assistant and live in Germany, so life can be quite busy and sometimes very screen-heavy. Crochet is a nice excuse to step away from all of that for a while.

I usually have a project with me somewhere. I might be crocheting in a park, on a train, during a quiet lunch break, or sitting at home after a long day at work. My crochet tends to travel wherever I do.

I’m especially fond of trying new stitches. I often see a stitch I haven’t used before and immediately start wondering what it might look like as a bag or pouch. Not every experiment turns out the way I imagined, and that’s part of the fun. Sometimes I love the result; sometimes I don’t. Either way, I’ve usually learned something.

Most of the bags and pouches I make are my own little experiments rather than carefully planned designs. Inspiration can come from almost anywhere, like a color combination I notice online, flowers on the sidewalk, an interesting pattern on a building, or simply the colors of the sky on my way home. Nature is probably my biggest source of inspiration.

This blog is where I keep track of those experiments. Some projects work, some don’t quite work, and some end up being pieces that I’d rather pass on to someone else. I want to share all of it—the stitches I’m learning, the ideas I’m playing with, and the little stories behind the things I make.
